At Vancouver Island University I had the wonderful opportunity  to participate in the Healthy Chefs competition in Vancouver 2017. My fellow students and our instructors Chef Debbie Shore, Chef David Nolan and Chef Francois Dejong competed. We had to come up with an entree and dessert and feed 200 people at the Hyatt Regency in downtown Vancouver. We did not place but I had a great experience as this was my first time competing in a culinary competition.

I received the Culinary Institute of Vancouver Island at VIU award and the Coca Cola Culinary award at VIU.
